Welcome Ramadan

Ramadan, the holiest month in Islam, is a time for spiritual growth, reflection, and community. As the Quran was revealed during this blessed month, it holds a special significance for Muslims worldwide. At Quran Academy, we want to guide you through this sacred period, making it a truly enriching experience.

A Time for Fasting and Feasting

The most recognizable aspect of Ramadan is fasting from dawn(Al-fajr) to dusk (Al-maghrib). This practice teaches self-discipline, empathy for the less fortunate, and gratitude for God’s blessings. But Ramadan isn’t just about abstaining from food and drink. It’s a time for spiritual feasting – nourishing your soul with increased prayer, Quran recitation, and good deeds.

Imam Ibn Kathir(الامام بن كثير) said: “Because fasting purifies the body and constricts the paths of the devil.”

Let’s Explore the Pillars of Ramadan

Fasting (Sawm): The cornerstone of Ramadan, fasting teaches self-control and reminds us of those who are less fortunate. Quran Academy will provide daily inspirational messages and reminders to keep you motivated throughout the month.

Night Prayers (Tarawih): Mosques come alive with special night prayers called Tarawih. We’ll offer online resources and discussions to understand the significance of these prayers and connect with the Quran’s recitation during this special time.

Charity (Zakat): Ramadan is a prime time to show generosity. Zakat, the obligatory charity, purifies your wealth and helps those in need. We’ll guide you on calculating your Zakat and provide resources for responsible giving.

The prophet Peace Be Upon Him said “فَرَضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ طَعَامٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ
